Early this year, I was contacted by Curriculum Corporation and asked to develop some environment units using the digital content on the Scootle website. I loved browsing the content on the site. It is very user friendly and all digital curriculum content is catalogued under headings such as Science, English and Literacy, Art and Design, for example.
There is a range of content - from photographs, line drawings, maps, to TV programs, documentaries and audio files of interviews, broadcasts & speeches.
When writing the units, I accessed digital content mainly from the Environmental Education for Sustainability section. The units have been 'tagged' together by Scootle into a learning path and can be found here.
Learning paths is a great way to group together the content you wish your students to access. This can be done quickly by generating a pin that students can submit in order to access the content.
Something else I like is ... digital content can now be accessed through the school library software of Oliver - making it even easier to find the content you want!
